Santa points at the family's tree on his magic map

Watch how it begins

Santa lights their tree. Then a cold dark wind blows in

In the very first video Santa opens his book and reads your kids' names, finds their tree among thousands on his magic map and lights it. Then a cold dark wind puts half of the lights to sleep. Now it's up to the kids and everyone who loves them.

Ho ho ho! —Santa

Your family's tree

Every tap lights a lamp

Your tree lives on Santa's map. Kids, grandparents and friends tap “Shine, little tree!” and the light climbs up the garland. Other players can tap “Sleep, little tree!”, so keep shining.

  • Lamps at the bottom are light: the more votes, the higher they climb.
  • Lamps at the top glow dark blue. That's the darkness.
  • Lights from friends and family protect the tree at night, when dark forces come as wind and storms and add votes for dark.
  • On Christmas night Santa flies past. If light leads, the tree shines all year.

Try it. This tree starts like every new tree: 10 votes for light, 10 against.

How it works

Three steps to a Christmas full of mornings

  1. 1

Put their tree on the map

Kids' first names, your city and a name for the tree. No photos, no last names. Check how Santa says each name.

  2. 2

    Watch the beginning together

Santa lights your family's tree, and the dark forces instantly dim half of it.

  3. 3

    Santa every morning

From December 1 he tells what the night was like and what weather is coming. Light the tree every day, and it will shine.

A new morning every day

24 videos from Santa, one each morning, plus a new ornament the kids hang on their tree.

Every night

Calm, wind or storm

At night, dark winds and storms try to put out the tree's lights. Everyone who lit it during the day guards it like a little lantern: the more lanterns, the less the storm can take.

Santa flies to your tree

All day on December 24 the kids follow Santa on the map. He reaches your tree around midnight, while they sleep.

What's in each morning

A couple of minutes with Santa before breakfast. Here is December 9, the morning after a storm.

  • YesterdayWho lit the tree: your family, friends by your link, players on the map
  • The nightA storm came. Five helpers stood around the tree like little lanterns
  • Kind deedSanta saw yesterday's deed
  • StoryA new toy for the tree, a little reindeer, and his tale: Pip helps with dinner. Then today's deed
  • ForecastTonight will be calm, and Santa can blow away some of the storm's darkness

Included in the adventure

A kind deed every day

Every morning Santa praises yesterday's deed, tells a tale, and asks for a small deed for today, just like the hero's. You pick one that fits your kids, they do it, and Santa notices.

  1. 1
Coming days: three kind deeds to choose from for each day

    You pick the deed

Three to choose from for each day. Not for your family? Skip deeds with hugs, calls, pets and more.

  2. 2
Today's kind deed: Help set the table. Done! Santa will see it

Kids do it, you tick it

Santa asks for it in the morning video. When it's done, tap “We did it!” before bedtime, by 11 pm.

  3. 3

    Next morning, Santa says

I saw that you made someone happy too! Well done!

Not ticked? “Did you make someone happy too? Maybe I missed it. That's okay!”

Every deed goes into Santa's Book, the keepsake you get on Christmas morning.

    Santa saw it

The kids hear it from Santa himself, in the next morning's video.

Included in the adventure

A new tale every morning

24 little stories from the North Pole, one for each morning of December, painted in watercolour. Tim the elf, Pip the littlest reindeer, Sam the snowman, Hoot the owl and Nell the bear cub share, help and make friends. Santa reads each one himself, and its hero leaves a new toy on your tree.

Pip sets the table

Today, the elves are having a big dinner. “I want to help!” says Pip. But the plates are too heavy for him. So Pip carries the napkins on his antlers. One for every elf! At dinner, Tim looks around. “Who set this table so nicely?” “Me!” says Pip, happy and proud.

Then Santa says: “Pip helped with dinner. You can help too!” That's the kind deed of the day.

Toy of the day: Pip himself, on your tree.

…and 23 more tales, one each morning of December.

On Christmas morning

Questions

Parents ask

It's only October. Can we start now?

Yes. Create your tree today: Santa's first video arrives right away, and the kids can light the tree and decorate it with the first ornaments. The mornings start on December 1.

When do the videos arrive?

Every morning at 7 am your time, December 1 to 24, by email and on your family page. The Finale arrives at 7 am on Christmas morning, together with the presents.

What if the tree doesn't win?

It doesn't break. It falls asleep until next Christmas. Santa never blames the kids: he thanks them for every light, and the dark forces are the ones to blame. If you want to be sure, Santa's Golden Star saves the tree on Christmas night.

How many kids can be in one adventure?

All the kids in your family in one order: brothers, sisters and cousins. Write their names the way you call them at home, and Santa says them just like that, in his book and every morning.

We're starting late. Is it still worth it?

Yes. After December 1 you get the beginning and a catch-up morning straight away, and then a new video every morning. From December 15 the late start costs $12.99: fewer mornings, lower price.

Who can light our tree?

Anyone with the link or anyone who finds it on Santa's map: the kids, grandparents, friends, the class parents' chat. Everyone who lights the tree today protects it tonight. “Sleep, little tree!” is for your own family and for players who have a tree of their own.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once for the whole adventure. Payments go through Paddle: card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Bring your tree home: make it yourself

Like making things? Put a smart LED garland on your real tree, and it will show the same light as your tree on the site: the same border between light and darkness, the same colour and effect. Easiest way: a ready WLED controller set up from your phone (iPhone too). No soldering, no flashing. Parts cost about $35–45.
